Qatar Today honours al-Attiyah

The Qatar Today Business Excellence Awards (QTBEA) have been presented at a ceremony in Doha.


Winners of the Qatar Today Business Excellence Awards.

The second edition of the awards saw the top-performing companies on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) in 2015 being honoured.
The awards were presented by the chief guest, Rashid Ali al-Mansoori, CEO of QSE.
Gulf International Services clinched the award for the top-performing company, followed by Barwa Real Estate Company, Masraf Al Rayan, Medicare Group, Qatar Islamic Insurance, Qatar Islamic Bank, QNB, Islamic Holding Group, Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) and Qatar Electricity and Water Company.
QTBEA also gave out special awards recognising achievements in the private sector that operated outside the financial markets. These awards are given to companies and individuals who have excelled in the fields of business and made a mark on Qatar’s economic landscape in 2015.
HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award “for his contributions to shaping not only the country’s energy policies but also that of the State of Qatar itself”, according to a statement from Qatar Today.
The other recipients of the special awards are Dr Mohamed Nasser al-Qahtani, deputy CEO of Al Meera - Businessman of the Year; Yousuf Mohamed al-Jaida, Qatar Financial Centre - Best CEO of the Year; Hamad International Airport - Vision Builder; Gulf Bridge International - Most Innovative Company; Jumbo Electronics - Brand Builder of the Year; Truth Real Estate - Dynamic Real Estate Company; Kahramaa, for the Tarsheed Initiative - Excellence in CSR and Social Values; and Dana Haidan, head of CSR at Vodafone Qatar – Maserati-Qatar Today Young Achiever.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were Yousuf bin Jassim al-Darwish, publisher and editor-in-chief of Oryx Publishing and Advertising Co; Jassim bin Yousuf al-Darwish, managing director of Oryx Publishing and Advertising Co; and executives from a number of companies and institutions in Qatar.
Maserati was the main sponsor of the event, Deloitte the validation partners for the Qatar Today Top 10, and GBI and Amigoz the support sponsors, while Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha provided venue support.
