HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday participated along with leaders of GCC states in the 16th consultative meeting at the King Abdullah International Conference Centre in Jeddah.
HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, personal representative of HH the Emir, attended the meeting along with members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir.
During the consultative meeting, the GCC leaders discussed economic and security issues as well as the current regional and international developments.
Following the meeting, HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani attended a luncheon banquet hosted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia, in honour of GCC leaders participating in the 16th consultative meeting.

Later yesterday, the Emir left Jeddah after taking part in the 16th consultative meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC).
The Emir was seen off at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi, and Qatar’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer al-Thani and members of Qatar embassy in Jeddah.
The Emir sent cables to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, Crown Prince Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Prince Mohamed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, and Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz in which he thanked him for hosting the 16th GCC consultative meeting as well as for the warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation.
