Darwin Barney had three singles and a walk, helping the Blue Jays moved three games above .500 for the first time this season. The Yankees dropped to 2-4 to open a 10-game road trip.
Sanchez (5-1) gave up seven hits and two walks while striking out six to win his fourth consecutive decision. Yankees right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (3-1) allowed seven hits, one walk and two runs (one earned) in six innings. He struck out two.

White Sox 2, Mets 1 (13 innings)
Matt Albers picked up the win with two scoreless innings when he doubled leading off the 13th inning before scoring the tiebreaking run as the Chicago White Sox outlasted the New York Mets 2-1 at Citi Field.

A’s 5, Twins 1
Sean Manaea pitched six strong innings for his second major-league victory as Oakland defeated Minnesota to complete a three-game series sweep.
Manaea allowed one run, matching his career low, and five hits. He had a career-high eight strikeouts and walked three.

Brewers 3, Cardinals 1
Zach Davies set career highs with nine strikeouts and eight shutout innings as Milwaukee avoided a three-game sweep with a victory over St. Louis. Davies, who won his third consecutive decision and improved to 3-3 this season, did not allow a walk for the second straight outing and scattered three hits while throwing first-pitch strikes to 20 of 26 batters.

Marlins 3, Pirates 2
Adeiny Hechavarria hit a go-ahead double and Adam Conley pitched 5 2/3 innings of no-hit ball, leading Miami to a win over Pittsburgh at Marlins Park. Derek Dietrich started the winning rally when he was hit by a pitch from reliever Tony Watson.
Dietrich, who injured his left forearm on the play, was replaced by pinch-runner Miguel Rojas. Hechavarria then belted a 3-2 pitch that one-hopped the wall in left field, scoring Rojas.

Tigers 3, Angels 0
Rookie Michael Fulmer and closer Francisco Rodriguez combined on a two-hit shutout to lead Detroit to a shutout win over Los Angeles in front of 35,053 at Angel Stadium. Fulmer (5-1) had a no-hitter for 6 2/3 innings before C.J. Cron lined a single into right field. The right-hander permitted just four baserunners on two hits and two walks while amassing eight strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings. Rodriguez earned his 15th save.

Nationals 7, Phillies 2
Wilson Ramos hit a three-run homer in support of Max Scherzer’s eight-inning effort as Washington drubbed Philadelphia, completing a sweep of a three-game series. Ramos, 3-for-4 in the game, drove in four runs in all. Danny Espinosa also homered and Ryan Zimmerman had two RBIs for the National League East-leading Nationals, who won their fourth straight.

Indians 5, Rangers 4
Yan Gomes’ RBI single drove in Lonnie Chisenhall with the winning run as Cleveland beat Texas at Progressive Field. With the win, the Indians snapped their three-game losing streak and Texas’ four-game winning streak.

Cubs 2, Dodgers 1
Jon Lester gave up one early run and very little else in the Chicago Cubs 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lester (6-3) captured his second straight win while also evening his career record at 2-2 against Los Angeles.
After giving up a leadoff home run to Enrique Hernandez Lester limited the Dodgers to three hits through the rest of a season-high nine-inning, 113-pitch outing while striking out 10 and walking none.

Astros 4, Diamonbacks 3 (11 innings)
George Springer drilled a walk-off home run with two outs in the 11th inning, carrying the Houston Astros to a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night at Minute Maid Park. Springer sent the first pitch of his sixth plate appearance out to left-center field for his first career walk-off homer. His 13th homer of the season delivered the Astros (25-29) their fifth consecutive victory.

Braves 5, Giants 4 (11 innings)
Freddie Freeman hit first pitch he saw from Derek Law in the 11th inning deep into the right-field seats to give Atlanta a win over San Francisco at Turner Field. The home run, Freeman’s ninth of the season, helped the Braves come back to win from a 4-1 deficit. Atlanta improved to 3-7 in extra-inning games, while San Francisco dropped to 4-3.

Reds 7, Rockies 2
Cincinnati badly needed John Lamb to step up and give it a strong start in his Coors Field debut.  And in the Reds’ win over Colorado, Lamb delivered. The 25-year-old left-hander pitched a career-high seven innings, one night after four Reds pitchers allowed 19 hits, including seven home runs, and 17 runs.

Royals 6, Rays 3
Lorenzo Cain had three hits, drove in a run and scored a run as Kansas City bested Tampa Bay.
Left-hander Danny Duffy (1-0), who was making his fourth start since
beginning the year in the bullpen, picked up his first victory, holding the Rays to three runs and seven hits over six innings.
Duffy struck out six, including four in a row in the fourth and fifth innings.

Orioles 13, Red Sox 9
Matt Wieters reached on an error that gave Baltimore the lead for good and later added a two-run single as the Orioles scored a victory over Boston in a slugfest. The game swung back and forth early and was tied at seven going into the fourth inning.
Baltimore (29-22) eventually took the lead in the sixth when Boston
second baseman Dustin Pedroia made an
error on a possible double-play grounder from Wieters off Clay Buchholz (3-6).
