HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser met Pope Francis as part of a private audience at the Vatican City yesterday. Talks during the meeting focused on the current refugee crisis and the need to provide quality education in conflict zones, in addition to the importance of inter-faith dialogue between Muslims and Christians to address global issues. After her meeting with Pope Francis, Sheikha Moza witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Qatar National Library and the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana to digitise and make publicly available a range of Arabic and Islamic manuscripts, which are held in the collection of the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana. The agreement was signed by Dr Hamad Abdulaziz al-Kuwari, adviser in the Emiri Diwan and member of the Qatar National Library board of trustees, and Mons Cesare Pasini, director of Vatican Library.
