Al Ahli Hospital signs deal with Al Jazeera Mubasher

Al Ahli Hospital signed an agreement yesterday with Al Jazeera Mubasher satellite channel to broadcast a live interactive programme on various health issues.
The agreement was signed by Khalid Mohamed al-Emadi, CEO, Medicare Group, and Al Ahli Hospital and Abdulla al-Najjar, executive director of Global Brand and Communications at Al Jazeera Media Network, in the presence of Ayman Jaballah, Al Jazeera Mubasher managing director, and senior officials from Al Ahli Hospital in addition to a number of physicians and medical staff.
Al-Emadi stressed that the agreement is meant to enhance public awareness about various health issue in a practical and interactive manner, where the doctors of the hospital will address certain topics of interest and respond to the inquiries and comments of the viewers live on air.
“We have a group of highly professional physicians and surgeons from different parts of the world. Also, the hospital is known for its high quality services, so the programme would be very special and would give viewers valuable information in the field,” al-Emadi stressed.
He pointed out that the programme will be aired from the hospital once a week on Al Jazeera Mubasher. It will include videos of complete surgeries with comments and explanations, interviews with specialised doctors on the related topics while answering the questions of viewers on air, and various health topics that will be dealt with in detail.
“What is special about the programme is that it would follow up the case of a patient since he or she started treatment at the hospital until he or she got well. The experience of the patient would be showcased in co-operation with the concerned doctors,” he said.
The necessary pre-approvals of the patients concerned would be obtained before airing anything, an official at the hospital explained.
Jaballah said that the agreement is valid for one year and stressed that co-operation with Al Ahli Hospital would ultimately benefit the public greatly due to its high reputation in the field.
Al-Emadi expected the programme to further promote public awareness about important health issues and help people to improve their lives.
