Airline continues tradition of Iftar boxes

Qatar Airways has said it will continue its Ramadan tradition of offering travellers an Iftar meal box featuring nutritious snacks, inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine, to break their fast.
Available on selected flights throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the Qatar Airways Iftar boxes have been designed to engage all passengers, the airline has said in a statement.
Each box features inspiring messages about the meaning of Ramadan, providing all passengers with an interesting insight in to this special time of celebration for Muslims.
Iftar meal boxes will be available on flights to Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Basra, Dammam, Dubai, Gassim, Kuwait Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Abha, Alexandria, Amman, Bagdad, Khartoum, Medina, Najaf, Salalah, Sulaymaniyah, Taif, Hofuf, Shiraz, Luxor and Mashad.
Passengers travelling with Qatar Airways in business and first class can enjoy vegetable crudités, hummus, chicken with tarator sauce sandwich and mozzarella cheese with spicy tomato chutney sandwich, banana, assorted nut, dates, baklava, laban, Alpen bar, refreshing towel and a bottle of water.
Iftar meal boxes served in economy class will include mozzarella cheese with spicy tomato chutney sandwich, mamoul, assorted nuts, dates, laban, biscuits, refreshing towel and a bottle of water.
Qatar Airways senior vice-president (customer experience) Rossen Dimitrov said, “Qatar Airways has established a tradition, during Ramadan, of offering our passengers a nutritious and delicious way to break their fast while flying.
“We look forward to welcoming all of our passengers on board our flights during Ramadan and invite them to embrace this special time of year by enjoying the inspirational messages featured on our Iftar boxes. Ramadan Kareem.”
The Qatar Airways cabin crew will make an on-board announcement and serve Iftar boxes at the appropriate time during the flight, saving customers from having to calculate the time, the statement notes.
