Stallions Academy won the recently concluded under-16 Cricket Tournament, which was organised by Qatar Foundation, by beating Qatar Foundation team in the final.
The tournament was played among five teams from Qatar.
Commenting on the achievement, their head coach, Sidath Tennakoon said, “We are delighted with this win. The team played really well and it’s a fulfilling experience to see young players perform so well as a team. As an academy we are very keen on teaching them cricket skills and also other attributes such as leadership and sportsmanship. Tournaments such as this help them to fine tune all those skills.”
Stallion’s players won special awards as well for their performances. Shub Agrawal was named player of the tournament, and Akash Bose as Man of the Match in the finals, while Azam Zaheed was adjudged the best wicket keeper of the tournament.
Stallions Sports Services is a leading academy in Doha currently providing coaching in cricket, basketball and badminton for the juniors from the age of 6 to 18 years through a well-qualified and experienced team of coaches. The academy has already conducted cricket tours to England, Sri Lanka and UAE in the past two years and is planning to tour Australia, South Africa, India, Malaysia and Singapore in future.
Stallions recently have opened branches in Singapore and Dubai.
