Qatar national volleyball team arrived in Maribor, Slovenia, on Saturday for their training camp ahead of their first-ever participation in FIVB World League.
The camp will run till June 15, after which the team will move to another Slovenian city, Ljubljana, to debut in the prestigious tournament.
Italian head coach Roberto Piazza picked 19 players from the League and Emir Cup champions Al Arabi, El Jaish, Al Rayyan Club, Police and Al Sadd Club for the preliminary camp.
Qatar will take part in Group 3 along with Slovenia, Tunisia, Venezuela, Greece and Puerto Rico.
Qatar’s participation in the World League follows recent positive results at the 2015 Asian Championship where they finished fourth. The team is currently ranked 31st in the world.
