Ooredoo wins ‘Best App’ award

Ooredoo has taken home the award for “Best Mobile Application of the Year” at the 2016 Qatar IT Business Awards event in Doha, the company announced in a statement.
The award is the latest in a string of accolades Ooredoo has won in recent months, as the company has powered ahead in supporting digital lifestyles for everyone in Qatar.
The “Ooredoo App” was launched in April 2013 and has become one of the most popular apps in Qatar with more than 500,000 downloads.
In the nomination application, Ooredoo noted that the “Ooredoo App’s” performance, convenience, and customer engagement was its “experience highlights.” With the “Ooredoo App,” users can check how much data, minutes, and texts they have used, their remaining balance, and subscribe and change to new services without visiting a store.
Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, director, Community & Public Relations at Ooredoo, said: “Even though our app is used by many users, it is intended to make each and every customer feel special. In this digital age, it’s still the personal relationship and trust formed with customers that brings us our brand loyalty and success.
“We’re currently working hard to improve our app even further and we thank the Qatar IT Business Awards for this honour and congratulate them on another great event.”
The Qatar IT Business 2016 Awards recognises the contributions of Qatari companies to the country’s IT sector. The awards ceremony was held under the initiative of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and winners were announced in the presence of HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti and HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani.
