Nepal’s Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, pictured, is to leave for Beijing tomorrow to attend the fourth China-South Asia Expo and the 24th Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair, an official said yesterday.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held yesterday endorsed the vice president’s trip to China that begins on Friday, Minister for Industry Som Prasad Pande said.
The vice president will be leading a delegation comprising high-ranking officials from the vice president’s office and the ministry of foreign affairs, Xinhua news agency reported.
The vice president is also expected to hold meetings with some Chinese officials on the sidelines of the expo in Kunming which will begin on Sunday.
This will be the first overseas visit of the vice president since he assumed office on December 31, last year.
