QC tent hosts 200 workers every day

Qatar Charity (QC) has said its “Breaking Fast” project continues to offer food through the society's tent in Aziziya to single workers living in the area.

Around 200 workers benefit from the initiative every day, according to a statement from QC.
QC is implementing the project in Aziziya as a number of workers and single men live in the area. Many of them work in malls and shopping centres located in the vicinity, the statement notes.
Khaled Ribata, superviser of the QC tent in Aziziya, said: "We reach the place early and start immediately after Aser prayer. We open the tent, switch on the air-conditioners and call for the workers and single men to enter the tent and wait for Iftar."
He also spoke about the meals, which are usually brought to the tent at 5.15pm. "We make sure to check the meals, their quality and how fresh they are, and write down any notes that are necessary for the restaurant to take into consideration in the future," he added.
Mohamed Abu An-noor, one of the organisers, said: "The distribution happens a little before Iftar so that the meals are in their best condition when they are delivered to the beneficiaries."
The workers and single men, on their part, said QC always makes sure to reach as many people as possible during Ramadan through initiatives such as the Iftar tents.
Abdul Rahman Musa who learnt about the location of the tent through banners distributed across Aziziya said: "The workers are very happy with the initiative and how well the tent is organised."
QC's “Iftar Tables” project targets more than 173,000 people, offering Iftar at 24 locations across the country.
The project is being implemented at a cost of over QR7mn and the number of beneficiaries has increased by 17,400 people compared to last year, according to the statement.
The project is implemented in places such as Al Khor, Thakhira, Simaisma, Kharaitiyat, Gharafa, Rayyan, Sheehaniya, Wakrah, Bin Mahmoud, Fareej Abdul Aziz, Najma, Al Mansoura, Bin Omran, Al Matar, Sailiya, Al Jamelaiah and Um Salal Mohamed.
In addition, new tents have been set up in Ru'ays and Ka'ban, while some are located at mosques and close to them.
