In partnership with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Medical Committee, Aspetar has organised a three-day Physiotherapy Course, which began yesterday. During the opening ceremony Gurcharan Singh, Chairman of the AFC Medical Committee & FIFA Medical Committee member, honoured Dr. Mohammed Ghaith al-Kuwari, Aspetar Acting Director General, for Aspetar’s contribution to enhancing sports medicine in Asia. On the opening day, more than 45 physiotherapists from across Asia have gathered for what will be the first ever AFC physiotherapy course.
Aspire Academy to celebrate student-athletes’ graduation
Aspire Academy will celebrate the commencement of the ninth generation of its student-athletes for the 2015-2016 academic year at a function tonight at 10pm. The ceremony will take place in the Aspire Dome in the presence of dignitaries, members of the Academy’s senior management and the parents of the student-athletes.
The Academy this year is celebrating the graduation of 36 student-athletes in several sports, including football, squash, athletics, swimming, table tennis, and archery, who will form the next generation of Qatar’s sports teams and clubs.
The commencement ceremony demonstrates Aspire Academy’s mission to be recognized as one of the world’s leading sports academies in the development of young athletes, which it achieves through a comprehensive curriculum focused on both academic and athletic achievement.
The ceremony marks the culmination of six years’ worth of hard work, effort and commitment from the student-athletes during their time at Aspire Academy and highlights Aspire Academy’s continued efforts to help launch their sporting careers.
