Qatar takes part in Qur’an recitation competition
Qatar is participating in the fourth edition of Turkey’s international holy Qur’an competition.
The Qatari contestant, Mohamed Abdullah Mohamed Belidah, is competing along with 89 reciters from 55 countries for the memorisation and recitation of the holy Qur’an, currently being held at Fatih Mosque in central Istanbul.
Qatar participated in the third edition of this competition for the year 1436 AH - 2015. The contest aims to promote the Qur’anic culture and encourage memorisation and recitation of the holy book.
Advisory Council holds meeting
The Advisory Council held yesterday its weekly regular meeting under the chairmanship of HE the Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.
The Council discussed a report by the services and public utilities committee in relation to a draft law on the protection of personal data, and decided to submit its recommendations to the Council of Ministers.
