Hypermarkets assure ample stocks for Ramadan

As Ramadan-related promotions and discount offers continue to push demand, there is ample supply of consumer goods during the holy month, an official of a leading hypermarket has said.

Krishna Kumar R, general manager of LuLu Hypermarket along D-Ring Road, told Gulf Times that the company “is well-prepared” for customer needs as he assured that stocks are sufficient, especially for sought-after products during Ramadan.
A few days prior to the start of Ramadan, throngs of shoppers trooped to grocery stores and hypermarkets to stockpile supplies and other provisions needed for the holy month.
Aside from LuLu, other stores have offered various offers and discounts for the celebration of Ramadan. Similarly, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce has put a price cap on more than 400 consumer products to mark the holy month under the theme “Aqal Min Al Wajeb,” which means “the least we can do” in Arabic.

Fruits and vegetables are among sought after goods during Ramadan.

Al Meera Consumer Goods Company, which offered 1,437 consumer products at cost price as part of its Ramadan campaign, is in close contact with its suppliers to keep up with customer demand, a spokesperson said.
“We have been working round-the-clock with both our local and overseas suppliers to ensure that we meet the expected hike in demand from our customers during Ramadan. We also have and advanced system in place - supported by a software system, logistics, and resources - that streamlines our delivery operations as well as manages the backup stock in our warehouses for replenishment purposes,” the spokesperson explained.
“Locally, we have hundreds of different suppliers from where we source most of our goods, in addition to our own private label products that are locally and internationally-produced, enabling us to offer our customers the best quality at affordable prices.
“Moreover, Al Meera is collaborating with overseas suppliers to import the best items for consumers during the holy month from countries such as Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam, the US, and the UK, among others.
Asked if Al Meera will observe extended operating hours during the holy month, the spokesperson said: “Al Meera is constantly striving to provide consumers with the best shopping experience while catering to their every need, as part of our mission and values.
"This Ramadan, we will spare no effort to make our customers’ shopping experience an unforgettable one. Al Meera’s Ramadan timing is available on our website and social media platforms.”
