Chantilly is due to host the Qatar Derby des Pur-Sang Arabes for 4 year olds (Gr1 PA), other than the Prix de Diane Longines, today.
The race for Purebred Arabians will see Qatari colours being well represented, with Jumuh, who carries the colours of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani, the only filly to line up for glory in the mile and two furlongs run.
Jumuh is coming off an easy win in the Qatar Prix de l’Elevage (Gr2 PA), at Toulouse, and has a very good chance here.
Al Shaqab Racing will have three runners in the race, most notable of them being Aba’ath, who won the Qatar International Cup (Gr1 PA) in Doha last winter before losing out in the Qatar Gold Sword (Gr2 PA).
The other runners trained by Thomas Fourcy include Meblsh and Khataab, who have shown quality but are competing at this level for the first time. Sheikh Mohammed is also counting on Reda, who was a bit under against the better horses in Qatar.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani will be represented by Tayf, who is inexperienced having run just twice and finished behind Reda.
Elisabeth Bernard saddles two horses, who have already proved competitive at this level. RB Burn and Alsaker were Gr1-placed at 3, and deserve a win at this level.

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when you are saying farewell to those that have left a positive impression. That was the case earlier this month when Canada hosted Mexico in a friendly at BC Place stadium in Vancouver.
