Suggs has ‘real chance to be ready to go’ for Ravens camp

Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has kept a very low profile since suffering a torn Achilles heel in the team’s season-opening loss in Denver last September.
Except for his arrest on charges of driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident after he crashed his car near his home in Arizona in March – and a short response on Twitter by the former All-Pro to confirm and apologise for the incident – Suggs has barely been seen publicly or heard from.
Suggs continued that trend at the team’s three-day minicamp, which concluded Thursday. Suggs was the only one of the team’s injured stars who didn’t talk with the media or come out of the Under Armour Performance Center to watch practice.
According to Ravens coach John Harbaugh, Suggs “looks good. He is working hard. He’s been here for quite a few weeks now, rehabbing and conditioning and all those things. To my eye, he’s doing a really good job.”
Harbaugh said that given the timing of the injury, and subsequent surgery, Suggs has a “real chance to be ready to go” for training camp beginning in late July after sustaining his second torn Achilles in a four-year span. “When we decide to practice him or how much and all those things, I think will depend on what’s really in his and our best interest, as far as him staying at his best when we start playing games,” Harbaugh said. “We just have to play that out when training camp begins.”
In a statement released by the team, the 33-year-old Suggs, a six-time Pro Bowl player, said, “I know there are many questions about where I am with my injury. While I respect the media’s right to ask, I hope everyone can respect that I am 100 percent focused on rehabbing and preparing to be the best player I can be at the start our season. I will address all of those questions during training camp.”
