Munshat Abdullatif claim Ramadan football title

During the closing stages of competitions in Aspire Zone Foundation’s Ramadan Sports Festival, team Munshat Abdullatif wins the football title following a closely fought 2-1 win against team Argentina on Saturday.
In the evening’s other main sports event – the final of the beach soccer tournament – team Barcelona succumbed to team Katara, who ran out convincing 4-1 winners.
The final match in the football tournament was characterised by impressive performances from both teams, with each playing well in defence and demonstrating strong attacking football. The battle for the title continued right through to the closing stages of the game, and in the final moments of the match team Munshat Abdullatif managed to take advantage of a gap in team Argentina’s defence to score the winning goal.
The players from team Argentina gave their all and looked for every opportunity to equalise right until the final whistle. They were unable to get one back however, meaning team Munshat Abdullatif were crowned overall winners of the fifth football tournament to have featured in the Aspire Ramadan Sports Festival.
Separately, in another competitive and intense game for the third and fourth place play-off, Elite FC defeated Soul Riders 2-1.
Commenting on his team’s win, Ayman al-Tawab, captain of team Munshat Abdullatif said: “Luck was on our side during our matches. But we focused on working as a team, supporting each other and I think that made a big difference. In fact, I’d say that teamwork was the secret to our success – we were very much playing in harmony with one another. The competition was definitely tough, but we rose to the occasion and took our chances. The level of organisation and quality of facilities were excellent and we’re enormously grateful to Aspire Zone Foundation for everything they have done to ensure the success of the competition. We and our fellow competitors really enjoyed the experience.”

Team Katara win beach
soccer tournament
In the finals of the beach soccer tournament, team Katara surpassed team Barcelona 4-1 to win the tournament title. Team Katara’s quality and strength was evident from the opening moments of the game and their accuracy in front of goal ensured a solid victory.
Team Morocco took home third place following their match against team Carthage, marking the end of one of the more unique and special tournaments organised by Aspire Zone Foundation during its Ramadan Sports Festival.
Commenting on his team’s win, Mohammad Masafi, captain of team Katara said: “This is the third time we’ve participated in the tournament. In previous years we’ve managed to reach the final stages, but today we were able to take home the title. Our approach was to focus on one game at a time, to give our all and work closely as a team. We would like to thank the organisers for the great tournament.”
At the end of each tournament, Abdullah Aman al-Khater, chairman of the Ramadan Organising Committee at Aspire Zone Foundation, handed over medals and trophies to the winning teams.  The Junior Futsal tournament will launch today featuring 12 teams with five players per team, and conclude on June 24. The first edition of the cricket tournament takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday involving six teams.
Separately, the final rounds of the men’s volleyball tournament will take place tomorrow in Aspire Dome starting from 9:30pm with strong competition expected between the participating teams.
