Qatar Chamber hosted the first meeting of the organising committee of recruitment agencies.
Chaired by the head of QC’s services committee and honorary treasurer Ali Abdulatif al-Misnad, the meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, as well as representatives of recruitment agencies.
The meeting discussed directives by HE the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi to facilitate recruitment of domestic workers and lower recruitment fees to ease the burden on families employing them.
It also addressed how to overcome the problem of delay in delivery.
A press statement issued by Qatar Chamber yesterday said that the committee was formed during a meeting with owners of domestic recruitment agencies called by HE the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and held last week at the QCCI headquarters.
The committee seeks to develop a mechanism to cope with all the problems facing recruitment of labour, particularly domestic workers.
