The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) honoured 95 outstanding students, seven mothers, as well as educators and volunteers in the country, “who made exceptional contributions in their careers.”
“We pursue our noble humanitarian and development goals in harmony with the strategy of Qatar, which pays great attention to the individual and social development by building human capacity,” said Nayef bin Faisal al-Mohannadi, director of Human Resources and Administrative Services at QRCS.
“For years, QRCS hailed outstanding students to encourage them in making more progress and become example for their peers,” he added.
Al-Mohannadi noted that the programme’s scope was expanded to cover more groups that deserve appreciation, which included the mothers, educators, and students with special needs who challenge their physical and social limitations to shape their future.
One of the awardees included a mother who had faced many difficulties in life. She sought help of QRCS, which supported her professionally and psychologically, until her children graduated. Now, she is taking care of other needy cases to help them succeed in their lives as well.
During the ceremony, QRCS gave the awardees prizes and gifts for their voluntary service and charitable activities.
In co-operation with the management of schools, QRCS’ QR150,000 programme identifies students who received high grades to honour them, as well as their parents and teachers, in recognition of their efforts and as an incentive for excelling in their studies and careers.
