Injaz Qatar has launched its new Ambassadors Programme to encourage volunteerism among the youth, Injaz Qatar chairperson Sheikha Hanadi bint Nasser al-Thani has told Gulf Times.
“Through this programme, I would like to reach every student in Qatar,” she explained on the sidelines of Injaz Qatar’s annual appreciation Suhoor event for sponsors, volunteers and corporate partners held recently.
“As ambassadors, Injaz volunteers not only get the chance to give back to the community but also impart the spirit of volunteerism to young students so that when these students graduate and have their own careers, they will be inspired to do the same,” Sheikha Hanadi stressed.
Injaz Qatar is a non-profit organisation and member of Junior Achievement Worldwide. Since its inception in 2007, it has inspired and prepared young people “to succeed in a global economy” through programmes delivered to more than 23,000 students in 66 schools, five youth centres and seven universities. It has 85 corporate partners and over 1,200 corporate volunteers.
Injaz Qatar CEO Emad al-Khaja said the Injaz Ambassadors Programme was created “to encourage the volunteers to repeat their experience with Injaz”. 
The new programme, al-Khaja said, currently has 24 ambassadors. To qualify as an ambassador, an Injaz Qatar volunteer should render at least three years of volunteer work.
“It’s like a loyalty membership for Injaz and hopefully next year, the programme will promote and encourage more volunteers to become ambassadors. For next year, a lot of volunteers will qualify to become ambassadors based on the past three years, which includes the previous academic year,” al-Khaja said.
According to al-Khaja, Injaz Qatar’s academic year (AY) starts in September and ends in June. He described AY2015-16 as “a festive year, full of challenges and a lot of opportunities”.
During the event, al-Khaja also lauded the “combined efforts” of Injaz Qatar partners “to help the young and next generation in Qatar face their future”. “The launch event’s theme, ‘Planting Seeds of Success’, symbolises all the efforts that have been put together to nurture and help the younger generation establish their careers and go to the next step after student life,” he said.
Sheikha Hanadi added, “Another year of success is yet another milestone we celebrate today and every year with our passionate friends and stakeholders. We are so grateful to see our students benefit and learn every day from the programmes offered to them. 
“Our Ambassadors Programme will give loyal volunteers the inspiration needed for them to keep giving back to the community and feel that they’re part of a greater responsibility. Endless opportunities are available out there and with the ongoing help of our volunteers, corporate partners and sponsors, we are building a generation working towards achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 and beyond.”
