Doha Bank upgrades card processing system

Doha Bank has “successfully” updated its card payments and processing system and is now running on the latest version of advanced technology of ‘Prime’.
The successful implementation of the system follows months of rigorous, round-the-clock testing in order to provide faster system performance to ensure a better end-customer and cardholder experience.
Benefits of the system transformation include faster performance and processing which ultimately leads to customer convenience in terms of receiving their Doha Bank cards much faster. The system upgrade will also provide faster access to credit card information and related online services via the Bank’s mobile banking and online banking access channels.
Another major advantage of the upgrade is the ‘credit card fraud guard module’, which is able to monitor fraudulent transactions to raise automatic alerts. Doha Bank’s fraud monitoring team works round the clock to ensure card transactions are processed safely for customers both at home and overseas.
Some of the new features of this upgrade include the capability to issue credit cards equipped with contactless technology as well as Union Pay credit cards with the largest card issuer in the world – China Union Pay.
In addition, within a few months cardholders wishing to convert their payments into monthly instalments would be able to do so conveniently at the point of sale terminal instead of filling in forms for the purpose. This would also benefit Doha Bank’s merchant partners who have been eagerly awaiting this development.
Currently, Doha Bank has the largest partner network of merchants that provide 0% payment plans for added customer convenience and flexibility.
On the upgrade, Doha Bank chief executive officer Dr R Seetharaman said, “Always the pioneer in embracing innovation and technology, we are pleased to release the new version of our card system which will enable the bank to better deliver on all customer needs relating to their cards and payments. Our cards and IT team have been working diligently over the past few months to bring this new solution to our clients.”
