QIB announces summer offer for Visa cardholders

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has launched “Spend and Win” campaign for its Visa cardholders as part of a new summer promotion, the bank announced in a statement.
From June 20, until September 30, customers who spend a minimum of QR5,000 using their QIB Visa debit or credit cards will be eligible for a chance to win prizes up to QR50,000.
Customers who are planning to travel abroad this summer have more reasons to use their QIB cards, the bank said. The more card holders use their QIB Visa credit and debit cards during the “Spend and Win” promotion, the more chances they have to win.
Each cardholder will receive one entry into the draw for every QR5,000 in international purchases he or she makes using a QIB Visa credit or debit card during the campaign period.
In order to further reward its customers, QIB has created a separate draw for customers who use their QIB Visa credit cards to make purchases within Qatar. For every QR5,000 of domestic credit card purchases a customer makes during the eligibility period, he or she will also receive one entry into the draw.
“For many of our customers, summer is a time for travel and exploration”, said D Anand, general manager, QIB’s Personal Banking Group.
“This contest is QIB’s way of celebrating the upcoming summer holidays and rewarding our customers for doing what they love – discovering the world and making memories with family and friends. Whether you choose to spend your holidays abroad or at home, QIB can help you have a memorable summer,” said Anand.
Accepted by millions of merchants around the globe and online and at more than 1.8mn ATMs worldwide, QIB’s Visa cards offer customers convenience and rewards wherever they travel.
The bank’s Visa debit and credit cards give customers the ease and security of cashless shopping, plus discounts at a number of international restaurants, hotels and car rental agencies.
Customers who have QIB’s Qatar Airways co-branded cards earn Qmiles with every purchase, which can be redeemed for flights, upgrades, excess baggage, and purchases at Qatar Duty Free or the Oryx Galleria boutique.
QIB will select two sets of winners, one in August (covering purchases made between June 20, 2016 and July 31, 2016), and the other in October (for purchases made between August 1, 2016 and September 30, 2016). The winners will be selected in the presence of representatives from QIB, Visa, and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce using a random electronic draw.
Over the course of the promotion, QIB and Visa will award a grand total of QR350,000 in prizes to 21 winners. In August, QIB and Visa will give 10 winners their spends back up to QR15,000 each: five from the drawing for international purchases and five from the drawing for domestic purchases.
In October, QIB and Visa will select an additional 10 winners, each of whom will receive their spends back up to QR15,000. One grand prize winner chosen during the draw in October will receive QR 50,000.
“The ‘Spend and Win’ campaign  is just one example of how QIB rewards its customers’ loyalty and gives them even more reasons to choose QIB as their primary Bank,” Anand said.
