Qatar Development Fund (QDF) and Qatar Charity (QC) yesterday signed a QR4mn grant agreement to provide scholarships for 63 students from the Republic of the Comoros, including 33 students in the medical field and 30 students in various scientific fields such as mechanical, electronic and electrical engineering, agricultural engineering and others.
QDF Strategic Planning director Ali bin Abdullah al-Dabbagh said the grant would enhance the role being played by Qatar in the Republic of the Comoros, especially after the Donor Conference hosted by Doha in 2010, expressing hope that this initiative would promote sustainable development efforts in the country.
For his part, the Department of International Development executive director at QC, Mohamed bin Ali al-Ghamdi, praised QDF’s initiative to allocate a number of scholarships for students of the Comoros, considering it as a real human investment aimed at achieving development and prosperity goals in the country.
