The Chitwan Youth Group will celebrate Eid al-Fitr with the Chitwan Fiesta Night 2016 on July 8, 11am onwards. The venue is Shalimar Palace in Najma and folk singer Bhumika Giri and stand-up comedian Jyoti Kafle will be two of the prominent performers at the event.
The organisers say six Kathmandu-based artistes are also being brought to Doha for the event.
Folk singer Bhumika Giri is visiting Qatar for the very first time and will be performing at other Nepali cultural shows during her visit too.
Stand-up comedian Jyoti Kafle is another attraction of the programme. Also a journalist, Kafle has performed in multiple popular Nepali TV serials such as Meri Bassai (Oh My God), Tito Satya (Bitter Truth), and Bhadragol (Chaos).
Singer Sarita Gurung Shrestha, pop singer Sanjeev Singh Rana, Model Sapana Rai, singer Bal Bikram Thapa, musical band The Range and folk singer Netrajit Panta are also performing. The programme will be co-ordinated by Suman Bharati, and will be hosted by Bijaya Adhikari.
The Raktim Cultural Initiative (RCI) is also organising a musical programme today (first day of Eid al-Fitr). Singer and cultural activist Jeevan Sharma is coming to Qatar for the programme. RCI Chairperson Humakanta Acharya says this will be Sharma’s first visit to Qatar and that he has weaved stories of Nepali migrants into a song. The programme will also be hosted at the Shalimar Palace.
On the second day of Eid al-Fitr, Sas Creation is organising a Dhrumus Suntali Musical Programme in association with Kalyan Ghimire at Asian Town.
Nepali popular comedy couple Sita Ram Kattel and Kanchana Ghimire (Dhurmus-Suntali), will be one of the top attractions of the programme. Dhurmus and Suntali opened the Dhurmas Suntali Foundation in Nepal to support people affected in last year’s earthquake.
Top Nepali film actress Rekha Thapa will be another attraction of the programme. Also a director and dancer, she has worked in around 200 Nepali movies and has gained popularity in the Nepali cine world because of her glamorous role.
Dance India Dance runner-up Nirmal Tamang, Raju Gurung, Muna Thapamagar, Sima Shing, Parambik Sharma, Rani Chataliya, and Sushil Nepal are some of the other artistes who will perform in the programme to support the Dhurmas Suntali Foundation. The programme starts at 6pm.
