HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sent a cable to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia, condoling the victims of the bombings that took place in the kingdom on Sunday and Monday. The Emir expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the barbaric attacks and stressed Qatar’s complete solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia’s leadership, government and people. The Emir also assured Qatar’s full support for all efforts and actions the kingdom takes in the face of terrorism and extremism to protect its security and stability, which is also part of the security of the GCC states.
Separately, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have also sent cables to King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud condoling the victims of the bombings.
Emir exchanges Eid greetings
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has exchanged cables of congratulations with leaders of the Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of the advent of Eid al-Fitr. The Emir also received cables of congratulations from a number of leaders of friendly countries.
HH the Emir exchanged greetings with King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The Emir also exchanged felicitations with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, King Hamad bin Issa al-Khalifah of Bahrain, King Mohamed VI of Morocco, Mauritania President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir and President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh.
The Emir also exchanged felicitations with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohamed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Heir Apparent of Bahrain Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Khalifah, who is also First Deputy Prime Minister and the deputy Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Defenve Force.
The Emir and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings during a telephone call that the Emir received yesterday.
Separately, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have also exchanged cables of greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Meanwhile, HH the Emir has received a cable of greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr from HE the Speaker of the Advisory (Shura) Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi greeted HH the Emir on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. They also discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in regional and international affairs.

Mercury likely to touch 46 degrees
A “very hot” day and a humid night are expected in the country today, the Qatar Met department has said.
The mercury level is likely to touch 46C in places such as Doha, Messaied, Wakrah and Al Khor today, according to the weather report.
Yesterday, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 45C in Sheehaniya, Al Rayyan, Mesaieed and Turayna, followed by 44C in the Qatar University and Doha airport areas, Al Khor, Batna and other places.
The Met department had earlier reminded people not to expose themselves to direct sunlight.
The forecast for inshore areas today says it will be very hot during the day with some clouds and slight dust at times. It will become relatively humid by night.
Slightly dusty conditions have been forecast in offshore areas today.
