A Doha Criminal Court is reviewing the case of three Asian men who are accused of smuggling around 30kg of hashish by sea into the country.
Local Arabic daily Al-Sharq reported yesterday that the three men were arrested by the Coast Guard while they were attempting to enter the national waters at night by boat that had no identification. When asked to stop they tried to flee with their motorboat, which was not equipped with any lamps or identification. After warning shots were fired and the boat was tracked, the men on board were arrested.
All the proceedings of the operations were also shot on camera by the accompanying police patrols. When the men were arrested some 30kg of hashish was found with them.
The case is still being heard in the court.
