The country is likely to experience a spell of high humidity, the Met department has said. In a post on social media, the weather office said “the most important characteristic of this period is the high relative humidity, reaching a high of 85%”.
The forecast for inshore areas on Saturday also says it will be hot during the day with some clouds. It will become relatively humid by night and hazy in some places.
Offshore areas, meanwhile, are likely to see hazy to misty conditions at times.
The highest temperature in Qatar on Friday was 48C, which was recorded in Turayna, followed by 46C in Batna, Sheehaniya and Karana. In the capital, the mercury level reached a high of 44C in the Qatar University and Doha airport areas.
The maximum temperature forecast in the country on Saturday is 46C in places such as Doha and Al Khor, while it will be 43C in Messaied and Wakrah.
