A new wellness health centre will start providing services from Sunday at Um Salal replacing the existing health centre, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has informed.
PHCC has completed all the preparations for the operations at the new health centre which is the third one providing wellness services after Leabaib and Rawdat Al-Khail health centres.
Classified as an A class health centre, the facility provides the usual services and several additional services such as gym, multi depth swimming pool, massage and sauna. Other services include preventive and curative services such as vaccination, mental health services, cancer screening, physiotherapy, dermatology, ENT, family medicine clinics, clinic of non-communicable diseases, baby clinic, dental and ophthalmology clinic. The health centre also provides laboratory services, pharmacy, radiology, premarital services, home care services and others.
PHCC has announced that the current health centre is closed and all the existing patients have been transferred to the new health centre. The new health centre will run on the Clinical Information System whereby all the patient records will be stored electronically and the services will be offered through appointment system.
Umm Salal Health Centre has about 60 doctors, 20 nurses and 22 administrative staff. The health centre caters its services to about 50,000 patients covering the areas of 70 and 71. The centre works five days a week from 7 am to 11pm.
