Qatar Charity (QC) has extended its thanks and appreciation to the national institutions and companies that have supported the Ramadan campaign 1437 AH, held under the slogan “Your Giving Saves Lives”.
In a statement, QC said the campaign “supported needy families, alleviated people’s suffering and helped millions” within and outside the country during the holy month.
“QC spares no effort to enhance its co-operation with various partners nationally, regionally and globally, as this is aligned to Qatar’s vision,” said Yousef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, CEO of QC.
The total cost of the projects implemented during Ramadan within and outside Qatar exceeded QR32.2mn, with more than 2,131,000 people expected to benefit from the campaign.
In the government and semi-government sector, QC built partnerships with a number of agencies to implement charity projects during Ramadan and received in-kind and cash
donations.
These included the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dawa Administration, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Centre, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Qatargas, RasGas, Hamad Medical Corporation, Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Qatar Railways Company, Qatar Airways, Katara – the Cultural Village, Water and Energy Usage Rationalisation Administration - Kahramaa, Qatar Tourism Authority, Hamad International Airport, Doha Municipality, Al Wakrah Municipality, Umm Salal Municipality, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Energy and Industry, Ministry of Interior, Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Ministry of Municipality and Environment and the Qatar Financial Markets Authority.
QC also co-operated with several companies, commercial institutions, banks, private centres and schools within the State, such as Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex for the Holy Qur’an, Al Meera Consumer Goods Co, Quality Group, Safari Group, Ansar Gallery, Ali Bin Ali Watches & Jeweller, Landmark, Villaggio, Aqua Park Qatar, Turkish Airlines, United Restaurants and Hospitality Group, HSBC Bank, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Qatar Volunteers Group (One Doha), Qatar Cancer Society, The Pearl-Qatar (United Development Company), Tomorrow’s Pioneers Centre, Gulf Mall complex, Movenpick Hotel, Ooredoo, Vodafone, Mowasalat, Qatar Islamic Bank - Zakat Committee, Barwa Bank Group, Al Rayan Bank, Sulaiman Al Haider Company, Doha Bank, Al Montazah Model Independent School, Ahl Alkaram, Almaraya Company, Inchcape Shipping Services, Landmark Group, Barahat AlWakra, Unilever, Marks & Spencer Villaggio and Landmark branches and The Youth Company (volunteers).
QC also built partnerships with a number of media outlets, including local Arabic daily Arrayah, Al Jazeera Media Network, Al Quran Al Kareem Radio, Qatar Foundation Radio, Sawt Al Khaleej Radio and others, for the campaign.
