Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Automobiles has introduced two new Mercedes-Benz medium-duty trucks in the Qatari market.
The Accelo and Atego model ranges provide “unmatched versatility, reliability and efficiency for business owners and fleet managers in a variety of industries”, the company has said in a press statement.

The Accelo and Atego are designed to deliver maximum productivity, exceptional driving comfort and the highest standards of safety, offering exceptional power and agility, the company has stressed. “Providing the proven and unmatched Mercedes-Benz quality standards, both robust trucks are the perfect partner for transportation needs of all businesses.”
A compact, robust and versatile distribution truck with a strong drivetrain to tackle almost all transport challenges, the new Accelo 915 C is equipped with a Mercedes-Benz 150hp four-cylinder engine and boasts of a payload of more than 5 tonnes.
Easily fitting a driver and two passengers, the Accelo cab has a modern design and ensures the highest level of occupant safety, excellent visibility and an ergonomic interior, making the drive more comfortable while increasing driver productivity and alertness. Disc brakes in the front and rear enable fast, accurate response in everyday urban traffic, the statement explains.
The Atego offers superior fuel efficiency thanks to its powerful and economical engines with output ranges of 130kW (177hp) and 180kW (245hp). The two-speed rear axle enables perfect matching of the powertrain to every driving situation and maximum flexibility at the operation – from high torque to high speed at the wheels.
The Atego 1418 offers a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 14 tonnes, a six-speed synchromesh gearbox with a two-speed rear axle, and is powered by a 177hp four-cylinder engine. The larger of the two, the Atego 1725, sports a 245hp six-cylinder engine and offers a GVW of 17.1 tonnes. Both variants have a high load capacity and body builder-friendly set-up that forms the basis for
numerous applications.
The Atego is also perfectly suited for more demanding applications and off-road driving conditions, thanks to the all-wheel drive configuration available for the 1725 model.
The Atego 1725 A 4x4 features the proven and robust Mercedes-Benz powertrain with 245hp, six-cylinder engine and resilient chassis and suspension system. Both axles are fitted with drum brakes for more protection of the brake system, as well as with the reinforced stabilisers that are capable
of carrying heavier loads.
For customers demanding more traction and even better off-road capabilities, the Atego 1725 A 4x4 can also be equipped with single tyres, 365/85 R20, on the rear axle.
Altogether, the Atego provides an optimised vehicle concept that makes it the first choice in both public and private sector medium-duty truck operations.
