Al Sadd train in the forests of Kaprun in Austria

The Al Sadd football first team continued its training in Kaprun on Monday with morning and evening sessions. This is the third day of the pre-season camp in the Austrian city. Head coach Jesualdo Ferreira used the morning session to focus on the fitness of the players and preferred to hold the session in one of the forests near the hotel in Kaprun. The morning session lasted for an hour and a half: it included long distance running to increase the endurance of the players.
Whilst the evening session on Monday varied between the physical and technical aspects with team fitness coach Pedro working on preparing the players for the tactical exercises. Ferreira used the second half of the evening session to divide the team into two groups and make them undergo some technical drills.
At the end of the session, Ferreira held a practice match between the players, during which the focus was on quick play and on taking the ball to the other half.

Garcia returns to Al Rayyan
Reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan have welcomed back Spanish striker Sergio Garcia to pre-season training. The former Espanyol star joined his teammates on Monday evening, as the Lions continue preparations for the new QSL season.
The squad underwent light training drills under the watchful eye of head coach Jorge Fossati. Rayyan will now train in Doha till the 27th of July, before departing to Murcia, Spain to undergo their pre-season training camp.
Al Rayyan will stay in Spain till the 20th of August before returning to Qatar to prepare for the defense of the QSL title which they won last season.  

Lekhwiya sign Moroccan striker al-Arabi
QSL side Lekhwiya has confirmed the signing of striker Youssef al-Arabi from La Liga side Granada. The Moroccan international has signed a three-year deal with the side, and will replace the outgoing striker Alain Dioko. This means that Lekhwiya have confirmed their four professional players for this term, with al-Arabi joining Chico Flores, Nam Tae Hee and Yusef Msakni in the side.
The striker is set to be formally introduced following the squads training camp in Austria. Al Arabi is no stranger to the region, having enjoyed a stint with Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilial, and his experience will be seen as vital for the Red Knights as they seek to win the QSL falcon shield in the upcoming season.
In other transfer news, Lekhwiya also announced the signing of Al Gharafa goalkeeper Qasem Burhan on a one-year loan deal. Lekhwiya keeper Ivanildo Rodrigues will be heading to Gharafa on the same deal.
 
Al-Yazeedi joins Jaish
El Jaish has confirmed the loan signing of Mohammed al-Yazeedi from Al Kharaitiyat for one season.
Al-Yazeedi has already taken part in the sides first training session of the season, which begun on Sunday evening. The former Al Sadd midfielder is Jaish’s third signing of the season, following the loan signings of Dame Traoré and Ahmed Abdul Maqsoud from Lekhwiya.

Ahli confirm Taawoun friendly
Al Ahli have confirmed a friendly match with Saudi Arabian side Al Taawoun as they ramp up preparations for the the new QSL season.
Ahli will take on Taawoun, who are based in Doha for their pre-season training camp. The tie will see new Ahli coach Luka Bonacic test out his squad ahead of the new QSL season.
