Doha Marketing Services Company (Domasco) has announced that GAC Motor has achieved a total sales volume of 600,000 cars worldwide. Domasco is the authorised distributor for GAC cars in Qatar.
GAC Motor had launched its first car in 2010 and has seen an annual growth average of over 80% for five years in a row, according to a press statement from Domasco. “By May 2016, GAC ranked 19th in sales volume with the fastest growth rate among Chinese car-makers. The 600,000th car marks a breakthrough moment and a new starting point,” it noted.
Andrew Parrot, head of sales and marketing for GAC at Domasco, said: “2016 started as an eventful and rewarding year for us. High production numbers show the strong global demand for the GAC brand. This year holds tremendous opportunity for our further growth in the Qatar market with our prolific portfolio of models, ranging from compact city car GA3S to premium SUV GS5S and premium sedan GA6.”
GAC has invested over RMB10bn (QR5.4bn) in total to build a world-class R&D and manufacturing base. It is the only Chinese brand with a C-NCAP five-star rating and is “committed to provide consumers with a safe and eco-friendly car experience”, the statement adds.
