More than 6,000 Syrian children have benefited from infant formula milk provided by Qatar Charity for Aleppo within its urgent campaign for relief operations in the besieged city.
In a press release issued yesterday, Qatar Charity said the project reflects its continuing relief efforts for the residents of the city of Aleppo, who are suffering under difficult siege and humanitarian conditions, noting that it has provided 12,300 packs of milk for children, (benefiting 6,150 children), for a month.
The QR 284,830 project implemented in co-operation with the Turkish IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation aims at providing milk for children and help mothers to secure basic food for their children in the besieged areas of Aleppo.
Mohamed Rashid al-Kaabi, Director, Relief Management, QC, said the relief campaign for Aleppo is still ongoing due to the worsening humanitarian situation in the city because of the incessant shelling against civilians and the imposition of siege.
Qatar Charity launched at the beginning of the month of May an urgent appeal for relief operations in Aleppo and has allocated a QR10mn emergency aid to meet the immediate needs of the city’s population.
