Aqua Park Qatar and Turkish Airlines have sponsored prizes for the winning participants of the Ramadan radio programme, ‘Asfar’, prepared and produced by Qatar Charity (QC).
The programme has been broadcast live on Sawt Al Khaleej radio station during Ramadan for two consecutive years and received a large number of listeners, according to a statement.
Aqua Park supported the programme by contributing 250 free tickets, each valued at QR180 and valid until November 18. The prizes were distributed over 15 episodes.
Each prize consisted of five tickets, allowing families to enjoy Aqua Park as a tourist destination in Qatar this summer.
Turkish Airlines offered premium prizes for four winners in the form of tickets awarded to lucky programme contributors. Each ticket is valid on the Doha-Istanbul-Doha route.
The airline also supported QC in providing Iftar meals during Ramadan in Nigeria, covering 2,000 beneficiaries, as part of its social responsibility and community development efforts.
Asfar is a live radio programme offering competitions that cover various cultural and general knowledge areas. Prepared by Hamed Aladdin and presented by Ahmad al-Ali and Mohamed al-Enezi, the programme consists of sections such as travelling through cities around the world, journey into the ancient times, and exploring the great minds of people who contributed to humanity’s development through key inventions and social innovations.
Moreover, the programme provides information for the benefit of listeners. These include giving out details of non-traditional projects undertaken by QC such as mobile applications and youth initiatives that seek to develop communities in innovative ways.
