The MoU was signed by Maha Mohamed al-Mansouri, Mada’s CEO, and Mahmoud Saleh al-Raisi, chief of Continuing Care Group at HMC.
The pact aims to build up specialised competencies in the field of assistive technology, as well as providing the highest level of assistive technology for people with disabilities and patients requiring such services at HMC. The MoU comes to realise Qatar National Vision’s aim of meeting the needs and aspirations of people with disabilities in Qatari community.

In addition to HMC specialists’ competencies development programme, the areas of co-operation also include the exchange of statistical data about the people with special needs in Qatar as well as the early identification of their needs and requirements and to enable them to exercise their lives more independently.
Al-Mansouri, said, “We seek to build specialised competencies in the field of assistive technology at HMC across different areas, such as paediatrics and elderly department, in order to ensure the integration of the services for the people with disabilities within HMC.”
“Hamad Medical Corporation is a key partner in implementing the strategy to enable people with disabilities in Qatar to achieve their full potential as well as enabling their surrounding environments to ensure that they have access to all they need for success,” she added.
Al-Raisi stated that such co-operation between HMC and Mada would result in providing a high level of assistive technology services for the patients with special needs as well as the development and enhancement of the patient’s quality of life by integrating them into society.
“It will also enable them in leading independent lives as well as laying the right foundation for assistive technology concept to be part of patient care and rehabilitation” he added.
