Qatar Insurance Group (QIC) is supporting Team Qatar, the biggest Olympic team in the country’s history, by providing travel insurance to the team.
The insurance group is supporting 38 athletes across ten sports that represent Team Qatar at this year’s Olympics being held at Rio. Bayt Qatar is QOC’s Olympic hospitality house in Rio de Janeiro.
As part of the agreement, QIC Group is providing travel insurance for Team Qatar and supports the QOC (Qatar Olympic Committee) in its mission to create more Olympic heroes and raise awareness of and participation in the sport.
“QIC is proud to become the national partner for Team Qatar. Partnering with the QOC is a step towards realising our mission and representing Qatar as a hub that demonstrates the spirit of true sportsmanship and goodwill on a global stage,” QIC Group president and chief executive Khalifa Abdulla Turki al-Subaey said.
“We aim to utilise this important partnership to promote athleticism, inspire Qatari sporting talent and make positive contributions that will not only benefit Qatar and the rest of the world but would also help create a legacy for our future generations,” he added. To demonstrate its commitment towards sporting activities, the group has a dedicated kiosk at Bayt Qatar.
