Ezdan Holding Group has held a series of training workshops on safety, risk prevention and crises management.
More than 600 employees and workers were coached by experts in safety procedures and risk management at the training sessions, which were attended by officials from the human resources, security & safety, engineering and food departments.
These departments are concerned with improving safety measures at the workplace and in various Ezdan Holding Group buildings, the company has said in a statement.
The courses, which gathered participants from Ezdan Holding Group, Ezdan Hotels and Ezdan Real Estate, addressed safety concepts and ways of identifying risks.
They also included various simulations on emergencies, fires and safe collection and disposal of waste at the workplace, as well as highlighting emergency exits within the buildings, compounds and workplaces.
Ezdan Holding Group COO Dr Mousa al-Awwad said, “We organised the safety courses in the context of our efforts to emphasise our compliance with international standards of quality, maintain safety and apply the latest regulations in order to curb accidents and raise awareness about crises management.”
Dr al-Awwad stressed that the courses are a practical application of the group’s motto, “Ezdan is the Place”, which the management seeks to implement across all levels of its services.
The courses included theoretical and practical elements, covering definitions of universal theories of safety and the legal and ethical dimensions, simulations on managing fire incidents by responding to alarms, getting familiarised with evacuation plans in buildings, using fire extinguishers and helping evacuate others.
The employees were also trained on how to sound fire alarms and declare and assess emergencies.
In the same context, a full-fledged training session was held covering the means of safe equipment storage to prevent fires.
The course included lectures on ways to maintain sound health and how to avoid work burnout, which could affect the group’s performance.
