QC launches new app for collecting donations

Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a new application for collecting donations. The new mechanism seeks to facilitate the donation process for donors through smart display screens that allow donors to view QC projects.

The new application will help charity work in Qatar in general, and the benefiting countries in particular, an official spokesman said. The new smart screens allow donors to view QC’s projects.

Abdullah Abdul Hadi al- Dossari, Director of Collection Management at QC, said the system was launched as part of the charity’s continuous development plan aimed at achieving greater interests and receive bigger donations.

He also explained how the experiment started with 50 new devices for the collection of donations, which are safer to donors. “The devices were distributed in crowded places, service locations, and malls. Some of the new devices are kept for the events, exhibitions, and festivals. There are more than 1,434 devices for cash donations (electronic and cash). These devices are spread everywhere to facilitate donations’ processes and to save time and effort."

QC has 21 branches in Qatar and 92 collection points and offices located in complexes and malls around the country. The charity has allocated several points to receive and distribute in-kind donations at places such as Khor, Industrial Area St. 48, Industrial Area 5, Al Khamees, Al Jom’a, Barwa, Mesaieed, Al ‘azeezya Tent, and Aspire Square. QC has also prepared 215 containers to collect in-kind donations.
