The livestock farms affairs committee at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has denied recent reports in a section of the local media regarding the cancellation of pending requests for allocation of new farms.
It also dismissed reports about the withdrawal of some pre-conditions for owning livestock for those seeking to apply for farm allotments.
The committee affirmed that applicants should acquire livestock within six months of receiving land allocated for a farm. It is a mandatory condition that has to be met prior to getting the allocation document from the head of the committee.
Accordingly, the MME has said it is keen to regulate the affairs of livestock farms in accordance with mechanisms and procedures that guarantee equal treatment among livestock owners, in a way that supports and enhances the development of animal wealth in the country.
Meanwhile, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday that it had learnt that the MME had offered more than 3,700 plots of land for livestock farms in Al Wakrah, Abu Nakhla, Al Khor, Al Sheehaniyah, Simaisma, Al Shamal and Al Kheraib for farm expansion.
