Baby girl born on Cebu Pacific flight to fly free for lifetime

The baby girl, born on a Cebu Pacific (CEB) flight halfway from Dubai to Manila last Sunday, has been awarded 1mn GetGo points, which would allow her to fly free with the airline.
GetGo is CEB’s lifestyle rewards programme. The baby’s points have no expiry, and may be shared with her family. This is the first time a baby has been delivered onboard a CEB aircraft.
Baby girl “Haven” was born approximately four hours after the departure of flight 5J015 from the Dubai International Airport.
CEB cabin crew, along with two registered nurses who were also passengers on the flight, assisted with the delivery.
The flight diverted to Hyderabad, India, to ensure the mother and baby received medical assistance. Both mother and baby, who was born premature at 32 weeks, are being assisted by CEB’s Customer Care team.
“We are happy that both mother and daughter are doing well, and would like to commend our flight and cabin crew for handling the situation with utmost professionalism and efficiency. We also express our sincerest gratitude to the two volunteer nurses who helped ensure the baby’s safe delivery,” said Lance Gokongwei, CEB president and CEO. CEB, the Philippines’ largest airline, offers flights to a wide network of over 100 routes on 36 domestic and 30 international destinations, spanning Asia, Australia, the Middle East and the US.
