Turkish Airlines posts $224mn Q2 loss, revises target

Turkish Airlines suffered a loss of 656mn lira ($224.02mn) in the second quarter, having posted a net profit of 661mn lira in the same period a year earlier, Reuters reported. Its sales in the second quarter rose to 7.1bn lira from 6.8bn in the same period of 2015, it said in a filing to the Istanbul stock exchange. The flag carrier revised its year-end target to 63.4mn passengers down from 72.4mn. It announced a target load factor, which measures an airline’s capacity utilisation, of 72%-74%. In 2015 its load factor was 78%.
