Jose Ramirez hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Cleveland Indians to a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
With one out in the eighth inning and Toronto leading 2-1, Brett Cecil relieved starter Marcus Stroman.
Cecil retired Jason Kipnis on a fly out for the second out, but Francisco Lindor reached on an infield single.
Ramirez then hit the first pitch over the left field wall for his 10th home run.

Tigers 10, Red Sox 5
Justin Upton hit a pair of three-run homers and Justin Verlander held Boston to one run in six innings to help Detroit beat the Red Sox.
Upton came up in the third with two on and tagged Boston emergency starter Henry Owens (0-1) for his 14th home run of the season.
Owens, subbing for injured Eduardo Rodriguez, fed Upton a 2-0 changeup that Upton hit halfway up the stands in left to give Detroit a 5-0 lead.
Upton jumped on a 3-1 Owens fastball with two on in the fifth for his 15th home run of the year to make it 8-0.

Dodgers 4, Reds 0
Chase Utley homered and Julio Urias pitched six shutout innings to send Los Angeles over Cincinnati.
The Dodgers snapped a three-game losing skid. The loss ended a five-game winning streak for the Reds.
Urias (4-2) allowed six hits and had six strikeouts over 97 pitches.

Rays 8, Rangers 4
Logan Forsythe hit a three-run homer in his return to the lineup to lead Tampa Bay over Texas.
Forsythe’s home run completed a five-run fourth inning that gave the Rays a 6-2 lead.
Tampa Bay trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the fourth. Forsythe came up with two on and sent a 2-1 offering from Rangers starter Martin Perez over the wall in left center.

Marlins 3, Pirates 2
Christian Yelich hit a solo home run to get the Marlins on the board in the first inning and Miami took advantage of poor defense by the Pirates to add two more runs in the fifth.
Marlins right-hander Jose Urena (2-4) allowed two earned runs on four hits through six innings.

Cardinals 9, Phillies 0
Brandon Moss’ 23rd home run of the season helped open up the St. Louis offense and seven strong innings from Mike Leake paved the way to a win over Philadelphia.
Leake (9-9) gave up seven hits and struck out eight.

 Braves 7, Nationals 6 (10 innings)
Jace Peterson hit a 3-2 hanging slider from Shawn Kelley over the right-field fence with two outs in the 10th inning for a 7-6 victory over the Washington Nationals. The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak by the Braves, who benefited from the Nationals’ season-high five errors.
Bryce Harper hit a three-run homer in the third inning for the Nationals and Chris Heisey had a two-run shot in the sixth inning.

White Sox 4, Athletics 2
Jose Quintana reached a career high with his 10th victory of the season as Chicago beat Oakland.
Quintana (10-9) struck out six, walked one and gave up two runs and eight hits in seven innings.
He exited after issuing a leadoff walk in the eighth. Quintana reached nine victories in each of his last three seasons.

Royals 2, Twins 1
Danny Duffy pitched superbly into the seventh inning as Kansas City nipped Minnesota for their eighth successive win.
The Royals’ winning streak is their longest since August 2014.
Duffy (11-1) won his 10th straight decision, holding the Twins to one run on eight hits over 6-2/3 innings before being replaced by Peter Moylan after throwing 95 pitches.
Duffy lowered his ERA to 2.66, which ranks second in the American League.

Angels 2, Yankees 0
Right-hander Jhoulys Chacin earned his first victory since June 14 by combining with three relievers on a six-hit shutout in the Los Angeles Angels’ win over the New York Yankees.
Chacin (3-6), who had lost four successive decisions, conceded six hits and one walk in 5 2/3 innings while collecting five strikeouts.
Right-hander Fernando Salas struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth inning for his fourth save.
Andrelton Simmons drove in both runs while Albert Pujols collected three hits for the Angels.

Rockies 11, Cubs 4
Nolan Arenado hit two three-run homers as the Colorado Rockies piled on the Chicago Cubs for seven runs in the first inning.
Arenado hit a three-run homer in the first when the Rockies abruptly ended Jason Hammel’s 22-inning scoreless streak. In the fourth, Arenado belted another three-run homer off Hammel.
Arenado went 4-for-5 with six RBIs, one shy of his career high. He tied his career high with the four hits.

Brewers 7, Mariners 6
Milwaukee pinch hitter Scooter Gennett delivered an RBI single in the top of the ninth, capping off a four-run frame as the Brewers rallied from three down to beat the Seattle Mariners and snapping a six-game losing streak.
Gennett’s lazy fly ball, which fell between Seattle outfielders Norichika Aoki and Leonys Martin, brought in Domingo Santana from second base.
Milwaukee center fielder Keon Broxton had a pair of solo home runs, including a leadoff shot that sparked the four-run ninth.
Seattle (66-57) stormed out to a 6-1 lead but gave all of it back after the fifth.

Padres 9, Diamondbacks 1
Right-hander Luis Perdomo took a shutout into the seventh inning and hit a run-scoring double, and fellow rookies Travis Jankowski and Alex Dickerson homered as the San Diego Padres defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Fellow rookie Patrick Kivlehan reached base in all four of his plate appearances and scored three runs.
Kivlehan, who was 2-for-4 in his major-league debut on Saturday, went 2-for-2 with two walks on Sunday.
 
Astros 5, Orioles 3
Dallas Keuchel allowed just two runs in eight innings and Carlos Correa had two hits and two RBIs as Houston defeated Baltimore.
Keuchel (8-12) had seven strikeouts and one walk and did not allow a hit after the fifth. Ken Giles pitched the ninth for Houston and got his third save after allowing a solo homer to Mark Trumbo with one out to make it 5-3.
