The Balochistan assembly has adopted a unanimous resolution condemning Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his statement about the Pakistani province during his Indian Independence Day speech on August 15.
The resolution, tabled by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Mohamed Khan Lehri, was supported by all political parties, Dawn online reported.
Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri signed the condemnation resolution.
“Modi’s statement about Balochistan has proved that terrorism in the province was clearly sponsored by India,” the resolution said.
Commenting on the resolution, Lehri said: “Modi has violated the sovereignty of Pakistan and the United Nations charter in this regard.”
“Modi gave such statement to divert world’s attention from Kashmir,” Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said.
National Party leader Sardar Aslam Bizenjo condemned the statement and urged all political forces to get united to foil designs of the enemies of Pakistan.
“We stand united for Pakistan,” he said.
Rehmat Saleh Baloch from the National Party said Balochistan was not an orphan province and did not need any external support to secure its rights.
“The people of Balochistan have spurned Modi’s sympathies and proved that we are pro-Pakistan.” The house unanimously adopted the resolution and vowed to stand united against all external ‘peace spoilers’.
Earlier, the Balochistan Assembly unanimously condemned MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan vitriolic statement.
Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti tabled a resolution in the provincial assembly against Altaf which was unanimously passed.
“Altaf Hussain has hurt the feelings of the people of Pakistan and provoked his supporters to attack media houses that are tantamount of sedition,” Bugti said while tabling the resolution.
“Pakistani will live forever and by sitting abroad no one can stoke unrest in the country,” he added. “Altaf Hussain has proved that he is a terrorist who fuelled terrorism in Karachi.”
