Strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas towards the north by late tonight, the Qatar Met department has said.
The weather office has also issued a warning for inshore areas today, saying low visibility is likely in some places in the early hours of the day.
Northwesterly-northeasterly winds will blow in offshore areas at a speed of 5-15 knots today, which may go up to 22 knots late in the night in the northern areas. The sea level in such areas may rise to 7ft, according to the Met department.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas today says hazy to misty/foggy conditions are expected in some places at first, followed by a hot day. It will be relatively humid by night. Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 2km or less in some areas at first.
Hazy conditions are also likely in offshore areas along with some clouds.
Batna, Karana and Jumayliyah recorded the highest temperature in the country yesterday at 45C, followed by 44C in Sheehaniya and Turayna. In the capital, the mercury level reached a high of 40C in the Doha airport area.
The maximum temperature today is expected to be 41C in Doha and 40C in Abu Samra, Al Khor, Mesaieed and Wakrah.
