A total of 150 reports were issued for violation of Law No 3 (1975) on commercial and industrial houses and public utilities, and nine reports were issued for violation of Law No 8 (1990) on the regulation of human food control, according to a statement.
The closure period ranged from a week to a month.
Meanwhile, inspectors from the Municipal Control Section at Doha Municipality examined 9,495 tonnes of vegetables at the Doha Central Market last month. This included 4,790 tonnes of vegetables and 4,705 tonnes of fruits. Inspectors destroyed 96 tonnes of these products as they were found unfit for consumption.

Similarly, Meat Health Unit veterinarians at the municipality examined 51,793 sheep, 615 cows and 497 camels and destroyed 12,033 tonnes of rotten meat. In addition, they checked 1,235 tonnes of fish and destroyed nine tonnes that was not suitable for consumption.
The Health Control Section at Al Shamal Municipality destroyed around half a tonne of various types of fish at the fish market there.
The Umm Salal Municipal Control Department's Health Control Section conducted 70 inspections in August, which resulted in the destruction of some 250kg of frozen and chilled chicken past their expiry date. A violation report was issued and fine imposed.
Livestock carcasses were also destroyed - two completely and 350 partially.
The Technical Inspection Section at Umm Salal Municipality conducted 92 inspection tours in the same period. Besides, it conducted 60 reviews to issue building completion certificates and also served 32 notices for violation of building permits.
Also, the Public Control Section detected 123 abandoned vehicles and took the necessary steps for their removal.
The General Cleanliness Section in the Al Shamal Municipal Services Affairs Department conducted a comprehensive clean-up campaign in addition to a pest and rodent control drive across all municipal facilities and schools ahead of the new academic year.
The Municipal Affairs Department at Al Rayyan Municipality responded to 1,440 requests for pest control and 117 for rodent control in August. It conducted a total of 2,245 such operations. It also carried out 8,520 requests to drain out sewage water and 385 requests to maintain drainage pipes.
The Public Gardens Section at the municipality planted 22 palm trees on Al Furusyah Street and 14 trees on Al Gharafa Street, while it removed rubble from February 22 Road.
