Wadi Aba Seleel gets facelift

Infrastructure development works in Wadi Aba Seleel area in the southwest of Doha Industrial Area have been completed and roads and other facilities would be formally opened tonight.
Ashghal has said the works carried out in the area aimed to convert the place into a sustainable part of Doha city by connecting it to the neighbouring areas and the main roads networks.
As part of the works, a number of new areas with the necessary infrastructure for commercial and logistics services were developed.
The project works included constructing safe, permanent roads consisting of two lanes in each direction along 16km to replace the unpaved temporary roads near the Logistics Village.
This is in addition to providing complete street lighting in both directions, which will be completed by the end of September next year.
This is expected to significantly increase the traffic flow in the area and the newly-developed roads could reduce travel time for commuters.
The project also included implementing grading works in the newly developed land which earlier suffered from problems arising from surface and ground water related issues.
However, it has been resolved by providing advanced drainage networks and this would effectively prevent flooding.
Al Jaber Engineering Company implemented the project at a cost of QR210mn.
The project is part of the Roads and Integrated Infrastructure Projects for Local Areas Programme implemented by Ashghal.
