Venues for the Eid al-Adha events and activities in the country organised by Qatar Tourism Authority and its partners are all set to receive visitors from today.
Various performers from abroad will entertain at Hyatt Plaza, City Center Doha, Dar Al Salam, Al Khor Mall, Ezdan Mall and Lagoona Mall.
“We are in full swing and we are ready to welcome visitors this festive season again. Compared to last year, the celebration here at the mall is longer this year, it was extended from four to seven days,” the Hyatt Plaza Mall management told Gulf Times.
The mall, which regularly hosts Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha shows every year, has been attracting a large number of visitors, particularly families and children.
The Sinbad show (in Arabic) will be staged at its food court while roving performers will go around the mall for the indoor parade.
Al Khor Mall has finished arranging the stage for the Flying Super Kids show, which will also run for seven days from today until September 18.
With family entertainment shows set to take centre stage this holiday, mall manager Navaneeth Sudhakaran said they again expect a capacity crowd like last year.
He added that they will also launch a number of new offerings and activities from today. “These are among our surprises to our visitors this Eid.”
City Center Doha has also cleared its skating rink to host Tarzan from 4pm to 9.30pm starting today as it expects a large number of spectators, especially families, to watch the show.
Katara – the Cultural Village has finished setting up a venue in front of the amphitheatre, including a stage, to accommodate as many spectators as possible for “Sinbad, the fictional sailor and hero of One Thousand and One Nights.”
Katara visitors who will stay until 10.15pm will have the opportunity to watch the fireworks display from the esplanade.
Souq Waqif’s six-day festivity starts today for the Eid al-Adha holiday at Al Ahmad Square from 4pm to 10.30pm.
The Dahl Al Hamam Park is all set to enthral visitors with traditional and cultural performances, organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, for three days from 6.30pm to 11pm.
Cultural performers from different expatriate communities (India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia) will perform today at Asian Town for the “Communities Eid al-Adha Celebrations 2016” organised by the Ministry of Interior.
Chefs, performers and competitors for the fruit and vegetable carving are all set to welcome visitors at the three-day ‘Kulinarya Qatar 2016,’ an initiative of the Philippine embassy in Doha aimed at promoting the Philippines through food.
