Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir has lauded the role played by Qatar, locally, regionally and internationally in favour of the sustainability of peace in his country, calling it “an extension of the successes achieved by the Qatari leadership in
establishing world peace.”
In an address yesterday to the Sudanese people on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, President al-Bashir said that hopes of security and stability in Darfur have been achieved through the auspicious visit of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to Darfur to declare the completion of the terms of the Doha peace agreement enforcement in the region.”
The Sudanese president said, “We, on this occasion, express our deepest appreciation to brethren in Qatar, which have made significant contributions to remarkable, fruitful and constructive efforts that enabled Sudan to cross to real stability.”
The president renewed his country’s adherence to dialogue as a means for protecting and preserving unity, and political, social and economic stability of Sudan.
He said that all efforts exerted would be reflected in convocation of the national dialogue’s general conference, scheduled for October 10.
