HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani performed the Eid al-Adha prayer along with citizens at Al Wajbah praying area yesterday morning.
HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa al-Thani; HH the Emir’s personal representative, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani and a number of their excellencies sons of HH the Father Emir took part in the prayer.
A number of their excellencies sheikhs, ministers and citizens also attended the prayer.
Dr Thaqeel Sayer al-Shammari, Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, who led the prayer, delivered the Eid sermon in which he thanked God for His grace on Muslims as they completed the fast and for the blessing of safety and security.
He called on Muslims to stay committed to their prayers and follow in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad. The judge also discussed the purpose of udhiyah and called on helping the poor. He also called on Muslims to make Eid a show of unity and co-operation
Scores of worshippers performed the Eid al-Adha prayer in mosques and praying areas across the country.
