Monday expected to be windy and dusty

Strong winds, dusty conditions and low visibility are expected in parts of the country on Monday, the Qatar Met department has said.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds and high seas by midday, according to the weather report.
Northwesterly-northeasterly winds are expected to blow at 8-18 knots in inshore areas, reaching a high of 22 knots in some places at times. In offshore areas, the wind speed may go up to 25 knots by midday.
The mercury level, which has been hovering around the early/mid-40C levels over the past few days in several areas, is likely to come down to the upper-30C levels starting from this afternoon as a result of the northwesterly winds, the Met department tweeted on Sunday.
Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 3km or less in some areas at times.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas is that hazy to misty conditions are expected in some places at first, followed by a hot day. Slight to blowing dust and some clouds are also likely at times.
Slight dust is expected in offshore areas, with the sea level rising to 7-8ft in some places by midday.
A maximum temperature of 45C was recorded in Turayna on Sunday, followed by 44C in Batna, Karana and Messaied. In the capital, the mercury level rose to 43C in the Qatar University area.
On Monday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 39C in Doha, Mesaieed, Wakrah, Al Khor and Abu Samra.
